Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween Everyone!
Here's an awesome image from one of my favorite artists, Lizzy Love.  I totally adore her images at Oddball Art Stamps.  She makes the cutest and the funkiest images.  Here's a darling witch that is just perfect for the holiday!  I hope you have a wonderful Halloween.  My neighborhood doesn't have a lot of kids in it, but the local churchs all have events which brings in a lot of trick or treaters to the area.

To all my friends in other countries, do you have a similar holiday to this?

Happy Halloween from this old bat!

Here's a hilarious image from Art Impressions.  I totally love this hilarious image.  I hate to think it, but I am getting pretty close to being an old bat myself, lol!  perhaps not as old as the one shown here, but being around an elementary school all day sure reminds me how old I am.

I hope everyone is having a great week and is ready for Halloween tomorrow.  Is anyone getting all dressed up in costume for the Holiday?

Trick or Treat

Here's a cute little stamp that I just had to have, she's called Goth Girl.  She's actually a wood based stamp, so you know I had to really like her a lot to get her.  I seldom get wood based stamps any more.  I am somewhere between 2/3 digi and 1/3 rubber now. I love her cute little bat balloon and she's all ready to go Trick or Treating.

Hope you are having  a great week.  I am loving getting all these Halloween cards in, I promise I will stop at the end of October, thanks so much for putting up with my Halloween craze over the last month!

If I only had a brain

Here's a fun image from Inkadinkado.  It's actually 2 different stamps and the sentiment comes from a different company, River City.  You all know I just love images with BRAINS in them as well as sentiments with the word brain, lol.  So I totally had to get these.   If you ever come across a brain stamp or a sentiment, let me know where it is!  I'd love to find out if it's one that I don't have.  For those of you new to my blog, I celebrate my successful brain surgery every February with HUGE celebration of wonderful prizes everyday of the month!  So be sure and be watching as there will be SO many prizes.
Speaking of prizes, some prizes are coming up this week as Ike's Art has their 100th challenge celebration, I will be sharing a card with a link to the contest and I will also be offering a prize so stay tuned!

I am using wonderful papers from Paper Temptress on this project today. The base of the base of the card is Basis Black, which I embossed with a Darice embossing folder.  Then I stamped my images onto Neenah Solar White Classic Crest Paper in Mememto Ink.  After letting the ink dry (I give it at least a day), I colored the brain and the eyeballs in with copic markers.  I layered the papers with wonderful silver lustre.

Morta Moon

Here's another brand new stamp that would be great for Halloween from Sandra Caldwell. This image is called Morta Moon #1887.  I thought this image would look perfect in a greenish yellow tint.  I paired it with some gorgeous papers from Paper Temptress.
The gorgeous papers I am using on this card are a background of basis black.  I then layered it with a wonderful piece of Hambly Studio Overlays.  These are wonderful clear overlays that you can place on top of your cards and add dimension, stamp on, put images in front of or behind, trim, or use as embellishments by cutting.  I am using Lime Mini Graph.  They are also available in awesome 6x6" packages.  For my image, I printed it out on Heavenly white and colored it with Copic Markers.

Bite of Pork

Here's an awesome new image from Sandra Caldwell this month.  This cutie is called #1862 Bite of Pork.  Too funny.  I just love her animated animal stamps.  What a cutie this one is.  A vampire pig.  I am using a Bo Bunny tag and some great shimmery applique that I got in Turkiye.  I thought it looked like a spider web, that's why I used it on this card.  The lace behind it is some vintage lace that I found in a local store.
I hope you are having a wonderful October.  Have a great weekend!  I am looking forward to some relaxation while the hubby takes some time away to go to a concert.

Dia de los Muertos

Here's an awesome card that I did for Dia de los Muertos.  For those of you who don't know about Dia de los Muertos, it's called Day of the Dead, it's Nov 2nd, which is also All Saints Day.  It's a day of celebration of those deceased often with prayer and remembrance of friends and family members who have died by making shrines commemorating their favorite things and foods,  as well as gathering and exchanging stories about them.  It's associated with the Sugar Skull image that I used here, in combination with gorgeous papers from Paper Temptress.

The base of the card is Neenah Solar White Classic Crest.  I took a sheet of 8.5x11" and folded it in half and then cut it to fit the card size I needed.  The gorgeous green is a Hambly Studio Overlay called Lime Urban Chic Frames.   You can also by the Hambly Studio products in wonderful 6x6" packages, which are the perfect size for cardmaking.  For the Sugar Skull I am using glossy black paper.  I also added a Dia de los Muertos cardstock sticker from Bo Bunny to finish off the card.

Witchy woman

Here's a fun image from Art Impressions.  I think their lady images are just hilarious. I totally had to get one of the Halloween sets this year.  The sentiment says
"Black BATS are flying
and Witches are seen
Here come the Booos
It's Halloween!"
I have another card that I made from this set that I will be sharing next week, too fun!

Cheers, Holley

Dancing Skeletons

Here's an adorable stamp of a dancing skeleton.  I got this stamp for just a dollar somewhere, most likely michaels, it was a wood mount.  I paired it with some gorgeous lace from Istanbul, Turkiye.

Can you all believe we are halfway through this month?  Thanks so much for everyone who doesn't LOVE skulls and Halloween as much as I do putting up with me!  I just had to get a chance to use SOME of my huge Halloween collection this year.

Cheers and Happy Sunday

Happy Halloween

Here's a card I made with some super cute skeletons and some great papers from Paper Temptress.  I love that I can combine Halloween with my love of skeletons, but as you know, it's never really stopped me from enjoying them on cards!

The base of the card is white cardstock, Neenah solar white classic crest.  If you want to make square cards but only have 8.5x11" card stock, fold it in half and cut out a 5.5" square card.  I then added a wonderful Hambly Studio Overlay on top of it.  I just love the Lime Green color for Halloween (well, let's be honest, Halloween and many other) times.  This paper is called Lime Mini Graph.  I added a cute set of stamped skeletons on Neenah Solar White, layered on Silver, layered on Black glossy.

Here comes Peter Cottontail....

Ever wonder what Peter Cottontail does during Halloween?
Here's an adorable Halloween bunny stamp (sorry I don't know who makes it, feel free to tell me if you do).  It has this funny sentiment with it which of course reminds me of the old sentiment about Petter Cottontail.  We used to hear that song so much around easter time when I was a kid.  Am I showing my age with that?

I don't know what kids see at easter or at Halloween nowadays.  I might be too ScArEd to see it. lol

Have a great day!

Life is better

I am sharing a quick and cute image from Unity Stamps today. I just loved this adorable bird and the sentiment that he came with. I used some great embossing on the card and paired blue, orange and green together today.  Not my usual color set, but I am trying to use some different colors some days.
Hope you had a great week and are planning something special this weekend.  If you are here in America and get the Monday off, enjoy your three day weekend.  I will be working on Monday, though the kids will not be at the school.

Trick or Treat!

Here's an adorable Halloween card using some cute die cuts and some great paper from Paper Temptress.  I just love orange and black and most especially SKULLS and skeletons, so needless to say, Halloween time is one of my favorite card making times of the year.
I am using Basic Black as the base of this card.  I cut out three adorable Skeletons (Yvonne Creations) in Heavenly White paper and glued them on to the card.  I added a single strip of Flame Mica/Metallic to give the final card a little shimmer.

Sugar Skull

Here's a recent die cut that I got, I just had to make some cards using some awesome skulls and skeletons dies that just came out.  Here's one that I used another product called a Wobble with.  Those are items that will make one object on your card spring back and forth so I added a little video on the bottom of this posting so you could see how it looks when it wobbles.

First here's the card

Here's a short (a few seconds) showing the skull wobbling

Witches Brew

Here's a recent image that I got from The East Wind.  I thought she would be perfect for a Halloween theme card.  I colored up her dress in red and added some witchy theme embellishments as well as some cool skull paper for her card.

I just got some awesome Skull/skeleton die cuts that I hope to get some cards made before Halloween to share.  But if not, you all know I never need to have Halloween as my excuse to share skull theme cards :)

Cheers, Holley
