Math Geek

Here's a hilarious image from SLS Scheibe of the SLS Lines called Math Geek.  You all know I was an electrical engineer in college, so I have taken so many math classes that I totally had to get this image.  TOO funny.  I created this hilarious sentiment, perhaps only math geeks get it, "My girlfriend is like the square root of -1...she's imaginary."

Then I had to decorate the card with a bunch of -1 button themes.  Hope my brother likes it, he was a math major in college.  Check out SLS Lines other fun images at her Etsy store, there's everything from quirky images like this to beautiful fairies.

Sporty Charlie

Here's a card I did for the Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge this week using an image from My Stitch Back in Twine called Sporty Charlie.  How fun is she?  She looks like she is ready to be put in the game.  That's why I added the fun sentiment, "I am fairly certain that given a CAPE and a nice TIARA, I could save the world."  The theme this week is anything goes, just include a sentiment.

Drop by the Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge, our sponsors this week are My Stitch Back in Twine and Sls Lines.  Share a fun card with us and you could win a prize from one of our sponsors.  I can't wait to see what you guys create.

Gift Bag for Handmade Jams

Happy Monday everyone!  We are starting up a new contest over on the SSS Challenge blog. I am using the cutest new stamp from Sherri Baldy of this little girl sitting atop a jar of Jam.  The challenge this week is Anything goes with a twist of creating anything but a card.  Since the church's bazaar is coming soon, I decided to create this small gift bag, big enough for one good size jar or two very small jars of jam/jelly.  It would be a perfect addition to something that someone picks up as a gift.

Here's a close up of the darling image that's included on the card, she's IMG668.

Hope you will join in the contest with us. You could win some wonderful prizes from Sherri Baldy!  Drop by the SSS Challenge blog and check out all the creations for the design team and then join in the fun.

{Love}

Here's a darling image from Lizzy Love today. I created this wonderful standing card that will fold up and fit into an A2 envelope.  I adore this cute image (and all of them) of this character from Lizzy Love.  Isn't she just darling?
Here's a close up of the image herself

Wishing you all a great sunday. Other than card making, now I am also busy with tons of crafts for this year's Church Bazaar. I made about 175 bottle cap magnets. Some I will sell in sets and others as singles.  I took some pressed leaves from another church member and created a bunch of cards, and now I am on to some jewelry projects.  I hope the church is able to sell all the goodies for the charity this year.

Boo

Here's a cutie from Simply Betty Stamps. I am using some Warm greys with violets on her.  It's hard to see but there's also sentiments in black that say Boo on the upper right and the white which looks like a line in the photo is actually a thick row of square bling.

UGH, feel like I totally failed on the photo for this one, there's so much cool stuff on this card that you are actually not getting to see in this picture.  Well, at least you can enjoy Betty's image today, she's super cute.

Marigold Sprite

Here's an awesome image from Sweet Pea stamps artist Mitzi Sato-Wiuff (Aurora Wings).  This adorable image is called Marigold Sprite. I just love that this image is Dia De Los Muertos theme. How awesome is that?  Dia De Los Muertos is the first weekend of Nov, so you still have time to make some beautiful creations for it.   Be sure to check out the original artist coloring on the website so you see my variation.  I added a simple sentiment "I'll never forget how perfect you are."

Here's a close up of this stamp, currently sold as a rubber stamp, colored with copic markers.
This week the entire design team is using stamps from Mitzi on the blog, be sure and check out all of their creations, as well as checking them out on the Sweet Pea stamps Friends and Fans facebook page.

Happy Owl-oween!

Happy Owl-oween everyone!  Here's a super cute image from Sweet Pea stamps artist Sandra Caldwell called .  I made this adorable Halloween card using gorgeous Paper Temptress papers to give you a little inspiration for something quick and cute.  Whoooo wouldn't love a little witchy owl with her vampire mate?

The base of this card is brown kraft cardstock, cut from 8.5x11 to 5.5x11" so it could create a 5.5 by square inch card.  I added a gorgeous 5" piece of Hambly Studio Screenprints which comes as part of the wonderful 6x6" Assortment Package.  You get a great assortment of Screenprints in the perfect size for cardmaking, 42 different sheets for only $2.54.  Once setting up the background of the card, I used the small pieces that I cut off the Hambly Screenprint and layered it upon a piece of Basis Black cardstock as an overlay for the top of the card.  Then I printed out my owl image on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest paper.

I hope this gives you some fun ideas for a Halloween filled owl card!

White Christmas

Here's a great digi stamp that comes as part of a full set from Decosse Dynamite called White Christmas.  What a wonderful sentiment.   It comes with a bunch of other wonderful sayings.  I decided to do the whole card in beautiful white theme monotone design with just a tiny hint of blue.
Tomorrow starts the Monday Outlawz Greeting challenge this week is to create a Christmas card.  As always, don't forget to include a sentiment.  As shown on my card here, an image is not required as long as you create a card and do have a sentiment on it.  We welcome your creations and can't wait to see them.  The contest is typically posted late sunday night or early Monday morning.

Get Wrapped up in Halloween

Here's an awesome Simply Betty stamp today. She makes the best Halloween theme stamps.  I totally love this lady and had to create a fun and sexy card with her for the holiday.  I had several fun die cuts to use and some skull washi tape that I got a while back.

Are you all wrapped up in the Halloween Spirit now? I hope so!

Fall is coming!

Here's a gorgeous image from Lizzy Love today. They are having a new challenge over at Oddball art in Fall theme.  I chose this shade of green with some orange and deep yellow as my fall time colors.  I just love this artist's images. Isn't she darling?

Drop by their blog and check out the blog.  I think this past week felt a little like fall, or at least it felt a little like summer was going, as the temperatures were going down, perhaps the low nineties as the high.  When walking 4-5 hours a day, that makes a huge difference.  But this upcoming week it looks like everyday will be back to 95-98 degrees again.  So much for that lovely decline in temperature.

Midnight Minions

Here's an awesome image from Sweet Pea Stamps Artist Rebecca Sinz.  This beautiful image is called Midnight Minions. What an awesome image for a Halloween card!  Can you imagine a girl playing with some skeleton animals? I was really enamored with this art.

Here's a gorgeous close up of this image, colored with copic markers.

Cherry Girl

Here's just an adorable little girl from artist Julia Spiri.  This cutie is called Girl with a hair wrap, but to me, she's a cherry girl!  I have a cousin named Cherry, so every time I see a little Cherry, it makes me think of her.  That made me color her up in red and made this card with red polka dots and matching flowers.

They are having a brand new contest over on the Julia Spiri blog, it's Anything Goes + Girls!  Well you all know I love the girls!  This one is such a cutie.  Her Etsy store is full of adorable ones to choose from.  This sentiment comes from Unity stamps.  They comes up with the best sayings!  The lace I am using here is some that I got a while back when traveling to Istanbul.

Hope you have a Sunshiney Day!!

Winter, I miss you!

Here's a cute image from Sherri Baldy today.  She's all dressed up for winter with her cute little hat on and her fuzzy pants and boots.  I added a fun sentiment "Maybe if I dress for winter, it will come sooner!"  I think right about now, everyone here in Texas is wishing for a little bit of winter. It sure has been hot lately.  You know it's hot when you step outside at 90 degrees and think, wow, that's not bad at all....well, compared to 107 of course not.

So, here's hoping for a little cooler weather.  The contest over at the SSS Challenge blog started yesterday and it's Anything goes with a twist to add a hat.  Doesn't need to be winter theme.  I can't wait to see what you make, you could win some awesome images from Sherri Baldy.

Have a great day.

Dia De Los Muertos

Here's an amazing coloring page from artist Rick St Dennis book Day of the Dead.  How stunning is this?  I am just blown away by his amazing drawings, esp his Dia De Los Muertos, skulls, beautiful ladies, and fun horror theme.  This card measure 8.5" square, though of course, it's not a true square, as the width is actually extended due to the die cuts on the side.

I colored up the entire image in W2-W8 and R81-R89;  The Challenge over at the Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge is to use pink. I thought this image was just perfect for that. I added a sentiment at the bottom, "For love is immortality -Emily Dickenson"

Drop by the Challenge and share your pink card and as always, be sure and include a greeting somewhere, it can be a cardstock sticker, as mine is, a stamped image, a computer generated print or even a hand written message.  We can't wait to see what you create.

I totally recommend this fun book from Rick St Dennis, I love the images!

Here's a great image from Sweet Pea artist Lemon Shortbread called Halloween Greetings.  She has some stunning images for this holiday including this beauty.  I colored her up using copic markers in some bright purples with some orange pumpkins.  What little witch wouldn't love to dress this way?

Here's a close up of this beautiful image which is available in both digi and rubber format at the Sweet Pea store.  You have plenty of time to create some wonderful Halloween cards, so drop by and check out all of the Halloween theme stamps.

Gothic Witch

Here's the cutest image from artist Julia Spiri called Gothic Witch.  I combined this image with some stunning papers from Paper Temptress today to create this card.  I know last time I shared a card using this artist's images I mentioned that this image was my current favorite in her store....well, yep, I had to get it.  Isn't she adorable?  The colors just match these papers perfectly.

The beautiful papers today are all from Paper Temptress. The card base is mica/metallic called Sapphire.  The large spiderweb corners are also cut from mica/metallic in Kunzite.  Across the middle there is a beautiful border that is actually from Hambly  Studio Overlays, a small piece of Pink Mini Chandeliers.  The image is printed on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest Paper.  I use this brand in my printer all the time and get beautiful prints.

Have a purrrfect Halloween

Here's a purr-fectly adorable image from Simply Betty Stamps for Halloween time.  I totally love her cute and sassy/sexy images.  If only I had a cat suit.  The other day my husband tells me that he likes two tone hair.  Really?  we have been together almost 18 years and now you saying that.  He never ceases to amaze me.  I just laughed and said, does grey count?

You can see all the fibers coming out of the skeleton, esp the one of the white cardstock where the image is printed, that's because I actually did these diecuts using a beautiful fabric!  I wish you could see the awesome detailing the in the fabric, they are shimmery with lovely texture.

Have a great Wed. everyone.  Cheers, Holley

Love

Happy Monday everyone!  It's time for the Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge.  This week our sponsor is Kenny K. I am using this stunning image called Caberet.  Isn't she gorgeous? You all know I love to make sexy cards for my hubby.  I am using a gorgeous word die cut and a beautiful die cut from Tattered Lace to go with it.  The theme is circles, so you will see circles all over my card this week.

I hope you will create a fun card and join in our challenge.  As always, be sure to include a greeting on your card somewhere, even something as simple as "love" like I did.  I can't wait to see what you create.

Pink Bunny

Here's the cutest girl that you can tell is ready to go back to school!  Have you seen that tv show called Bob's Burgers?  How can you not love that little girl who wears the bunny ears everywhere she goes?  This image totally reminds me of her PLUS I just love the little skull on her shirt and the bag that she is holding. I had to had a couple skulls to the card to go with it.

Hope you like her too, so fun to see all the kids off to school now. I get up and start walking everyday by 7:30 so I see the kids in my neighborhood actually walking to school with their parents.  How refreshing is that?  So sweet to see.

Have a great Sunday.  Check out the Oddball Art Challenge blog for this challenge, as well as their current facebook Challenge.

How punny am I?

Here's a darling image from Unity Stamps.  You know I like a good pun now and again.  This image was just too cute and it comes in a great set called Otter Nonsense.  I am using one of the three sentiments that goes with this fun image.  Now where's my otter half?

Hope you have a wonderful Labor Day weekend.  I am actually going to be working at the church both today and tomorrow, hmmm, so much for labor day weekend.  Oh well, there's always so many things to be very thankful for.  Linking this to the Unity Challenge this month, they have a pretty loose sketch challenge, which I altered just a tad to create my own card here.

Feeling Fabulous

Here's one of the cutest images from Sweet Pea stamps artist Conie Fong. She's called Feeling Fabulous.  Well she's also looking fabulous in this color combination of orange, pink and blues.  I am so in love with this gorgeous image.  I added a fun vellum sentiment that also is printed in oranges and pinks and it says "Know that you YOURSELF are a miracle."  How true is that? most esp for me, as now I am five and half year post brain surgery(ies) and still seizure free.

Here's a close up of this adorable stamp that is currently available in digi and rubber stamp format.

Be sure and check out all of Conie's great images.  She has adorable girls like this, cute animals like penguins and teddy bears and the prettiest ladies.  Drop by our group on Facebook- Sweet pea stamps friends and fans and share your creations with us.  We have a constant contest going on and would love to see your creations!

A cute little corner bookmark

Here's the cutest image from artist Sherri Baldy.  We are starting a new contest over on the SSS Challenge blog. The contest is Anything Goes + Bookmark!  So, what it is I made you ask?  It is indeed a bookmark. It's a cute little specially folded square with a cute pocket that allows it to sit on the corner of a book page.  I have included a couple of additional photos so you can see it in use and I added a location to the pattern at the end of this posting.  I wish I could say I was clever enough to come up with this all by myself, but this folded bookmark has been around long before me.

Here's the bookmark in  a book holding the page for me.

Here it is with the book closed, so you can see that I know where my marked page is.

Here's one place (of I am sure very many) where you can find the pattern for creating one of these bookmarks yourself.  Check it out and then make a bookmark for our current contest on the challenge blog.  You could win an awesome prize from Sherri Baldy Stamps.

Cheers, Holley
