Jailbreaker

Here's a super cute image from Simply Betty stamps. I adore this image (and well, all of Betty's fun images).  She's got her file in hand to try and get out.  I think of her as a prisoner of LOVE.  Had to use a black and white striped card for this one.

Can you all believe we are about to start July?  where has the summer gone?  with all the amazing and blessed (and scary) rain we have had in Texas this year it hasn't really felt like summer.  Usually by now we would all be surrounded by dead grass and well, dead and dried everything.  Despite the scary floods and horrible tragedies that some dealt with, the majority of us are surrounded by amazing greenery, loaded trees of fruit, and a lake that hasn't been so full in many many years.  That lake supplies water for the million plus people in this area and was down below 40%.  Now, it's back to above 80% of it's location to the point where they had to open the dam.  Very thankful for all this rain and very prayerful for those who came into harms way.

Thank You!

Here's an adorable image from Sherri Baldy. I just love this cutie, do they still make hats like this?  I can certainly remember such things, though even when I was a kid, these were hats that were from before my time.  I turned this card into a thank you card using a wonderful sticker from Pebbles and then I added some gorgeous ribbon from Turkiye.  Totally wish I could go back to that store....I would end up coming home with no clothes and just ribbons and laces, lol!

There's a fun challenge going on at the SSS Challenge blog, it's anything goes + handmade flowers.  Create something fun and share it with us this week for your chance to win some awesome stamps from Sherri Baldy.  Have a great week!

Cheers, Holley

A day for Love!

Sharing this fairy of love today. As I am sure many of you heard, the US Supreme court ruled yesterday to make marriage legal for everyone in all 50 states.  It is a tremendous step for equality that is long overdue.  Living in Texas we were one of the last 13 states in the USA who had yet to give equal rights to all citizens!  Here's a card for all the LOVE and happiness that I saw yesterday including huge congrats to a couple at my church who after 13 years together, where now able to legally get married.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Cheers, Holley

Always believe in yourself.

Here's a gorgeous Sweet Pea stamp image from artist Gabriella Szabo called Yuletide Blessings.  I chose to use this image for the Artist of the month card to show you how stunning her art is as well as how versatile it can be. I don't think you would have ever guessed that this image was originally supposed to be a Christmas theme stamp.  How cool is that?  Be sure and check out the image on the Sweet Pea stamps site, so you can see how the image looks in Christmas colors.

Here's a close up of this stunning image

Check out all of Gabriella's stunning images at Sweet Pea, she has the most beautiful fairy images.

Have a crafty day everyone!

Father's Day

Little old ladybug

Check out this adorable old ladybug!  Isn't she too cute?  This card was created using beautiful papers from Paper Temptress and a fun digi stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps.  She's called Old Ladybug.  I chose great papers to match the coloring, it's hard to see here, but the center paper is very shimmery from Hambly Studious and the yellow paper is actually Mica with beautiful flecks.

Here's a close up of this adorable image

For the card, I am using beautiful papers from Paper Temptress. For the base of the card I am using a warm grey cardstock that matches the copic marker color used to color the image.  I then chose a trio of papers each with a tinge of color that matched a part of the image, so each paper would bring out something special in the colors.  The bottom is Brawny called Tuscan Sun.  The middle layer is a Hambly Screenprint called Houndstooth.  The third color layer is a beautiful shimmery mica/metallic paper Gold.  The image is printed out on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest.

A little VBS.....

First off let me share this adorable little button card that I made with this six panel window card.  You all know that buttons are probably my number one favorite embellishment, so I made up this card for a sewing friend who I knew would adore it.

Second, I am now half way finished with VBS so let me share some of the kids awesome creations, Our theme this year is Trek through Thailand.  If you recall I talked about cutting something like150 trees, 150 leaves, 60 9x2" grass and backgrounds, 360 elephants,....months and months of prep.  The kids only get about 20 minutes of crafting, so everything has to be ready to go when they get to the room.

Here's day one, they created elephant habitats.  Elephants are one of Thailand's most popular tourist sites.  There are very good refuge locations and also very sad situations where people take advantage and mistreat these animals.

As you can see, the kids did a great job and were all so proud of their elephant's homes.  Many of them would sit their elephants on the blue felt to tell me, I am letting him take a swim.  How darling is that?

I would have also shown last night's craft but due to the tornado warning and horrible storm predictions, much of the city was advised to close early and go home.  Thus we opted to cancel VBS on Tuesday.  So perhaps on Thursday I will have other projects to share.

Cheers, Holley

East Wind Challenge

Check out this awesome image that was a freebie give by The East Wind!  WOW.  If you don't follow, you should check out her facebook and sign up.  Every month she sends out an email with a wonderful free stamp.  Also, I am sure you have seen many cards that I have made with her images, my favorite from her being Lucy Loo.  Sweet Pea stamps makes her images in rubber now.

There's a challenge over at the East Wind Challenge blog to use dots or stripes for your card.  This is my second entry this month. I just LOVE this image. I wanted to keep it flat with no color, but next time I am going to print it and color the eye in a bright green or blue, something that will give more definition.

Hope you have a great day!

Steampunk Betty

Here's an awesome Steampunk theme image from Simply Betty Stamps. I just love this artist's images.  Think I was steampunk enthusiastic after last week's card so I had to make another.  I pulled out this image from Simply Betty called Steampunk Corinne.
I added this fun sentiment from Jimbo Lojik, I totally adore the smart aleck comments that he has created for stamps.  Too funny.  I am guessing this lady definitely has a personality that some people can't handle.
