Meet Zodi, coming haunting to a house near you

Here's a fun card using some gorgeous papers from Paper Temptress today combined with a great image from Scrapbook Stamp Society.  The digi-stamp is called Zodi Zombie and her Bunny by artist Heather Valentin.  I printed her out on Neenah Solar White paper 80 pound, which runs great through my printer for digital stamps.
For the card base, I used Pop Tones paper called Berrylicious.  The paper embellishments are done using wonderful ruche paper called Grey Crepe.  Doesn't she just look like she wants to jump off the card?

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Paper Temptress);  Image (Addicted to Stamps);  Ink (Colorbox Chalk); Die Cut (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Punch (Martha Stewart);  Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers);

Meet Glow

Here's one of the newer images from a sheet of stamps by Sweet Pea stamps artist Meredith Dillman called Glow (Plate #202). She's a stunning image on a wonderful sheet of stamps. I love the shimmery wings she has and I added some gorgeous sparkle to them. Be sure to check out the artist's coloring so you can see how my coloring is a different touch.
I added a wonderful sentiment from Oliver Wendell Holmes that says "Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave but not our hearts." I added a huge heart shaped brad from Bazzill and used some yummy cardstock from SEI with gold embossing as my base. I just see this fairy looking out across some distance thinking about her home. As the saying says, even though we are not there, home is with us, in our hearts.
Here's a close up of this wonderful stamp. It's great both individually and with the whole sheet. Be sure to scroll down to Wed's posting from Sweet Pea stamps and leave a comment there for your chance to win some blog candy from them! I am going to announce winners on the upcoming wed!!

Squigglefly Challenge

Happy Monday! Here's the card I made for the Squigglefly Challenge this week. The theme this week is to make a mother's day theme card. I have this adorable image from artist Cheryl Alger called "Allie Kisses a Bluebird", so I created a card with this cute little girl kissing the birds.

Then on the inside of my card I added this adorable image from artist Fawn Palmer called Baby Bird Bathtime because I can just imagine that sweet little girl taking those little birds (and babies, and just about anything else she finds) and placing them into the bird bath! Can you just see the mom's face when she goes outside and finds her daughter kissing the birds and then looks over to the bird bath?
Drop by the Squigglefly Challenge blog and post a Mother's Day card to participate in this week's challenge. You can even use a free stamp from Squigglefly to play. If you haven't ever tried a Digistamp you just download it onto your computer, print it out onto cardstock, and color it up! I personally let my printed images dry for many hours before coloring with Copic markers. Great thing about Digi-stamps is that you can make them any size you want, 2 in, 3 in, 4in, 5 in!

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, DCWV, Metallic, Neenah); Images (Squigglefly); Diecuts (Spellbinders nestabilities); Color (Copic Markers); Punch (Creative Memories Circular Punch set); Borders (Martha Stewart); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue Dots), Sentiment (Custom printed); Butterfly (Floradoodles);

You are to make a card using embellishments, only you don't know which embellishments are the "mystery winners." The image I used here is called "You are my sunshine" and it also comes with the saying (click here).

You can check out the design team samples and perhaps get a hint at the winning embellishments that you should put on yours cards. Good luck! A Crafter's Card

Happy Friday everyone! Can you believe we are almost halfway through April already? Here's a crafty card using a crafty lady, a seamstress! This elegant lady image stands out wonderfully on stunning papers from Paper Temptress. I stamped her on Neenah Solar White with a beautiful stamp called Fanciful Notions by Sweet Pea Stamps, once colored with Copic Markers, the image was cut out using Spellbinders Nestabilities and edged using Creamy Brown Colorbox Chalk on the edges.She's sewing in the image, which made her go perfectly with this border punch, using amazing looking textured ruche paper called Khaki Crepe. The card base is Epic Thick Black Columns. I also used creamy brown chalk on the edges to highlight the columned texture. The creamy brown matches the khaki crepe paper color very well.

This card would be just perfect for that sewing crafter in your life. Think of the quilt makers, stitchers, seamstresses,...I know so many talented ladies in that line of work. They would just love a card like this. Have a great weekend.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Paper Temptress); Stamp (Sweet Pea); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Punch (EK Success); Die Cut (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers);

Squigglefly Challenge

Happy Monday! Welcome to this week's Squigglefly Challenge. Has a kid tell you a knock knock joke lately? Well here's the favorite: Knock Knock; Who's There? Knock, Knock; Who's There? Banana. Banana Who? Knock Knock; Who's There? Knock, Knock; Who's There? Banana. Banana Who?....Knock Knock....this will go on as the child giggles and the adult gets bored....at some point the kid will finally say "Orange", Orange Who? Orange you glad I didn't say Banana?......ha ha ha....then much like any child, the SAME knock knock joke starts over again immediately.

So, this week's Squigglefly challenge is called "Orange you glad I didn't say Banana?" There's three ways to participate: 1) you can either use the color scheme orange and yellow on your card; 2) you can use any PUNNY joke or 3) use any fruit themed image or embellishment on your card.Here's my card this week. You will notice that I completed items #1 and #2 by adding a funny pun and the color scheme. I am using the newest image from artist Lynne Stansbery called Tulip Display. Hop on over to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog and make a fun card for this week's challenge.

Project Materials: Cardstock (AC Metallic, Hobby Lobby, Neenah); Image (Squigglefly); Saying (Computer Generated); Buttons (American Traditional); Ink (Colorbox Chalk); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Color (Copic Markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all, Glue Dots);

It's Weena

Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea artist Joanne Schempp called Weena. I love how she is blowing bubbles with the cat's images in them. This stamp image is just amazing. I don't think it has to be a Halloween theme card, but I am a huge halloween card lover, so I turned it into one.
I actually didn't start the card that way, even when I colored the image, that was not my intention at all, but I found this wonderful shimmery purple paper and these adorable black cat decor, which of course reminded me of a great saying that Sweet Pea stamps has "When black cats prowl and pumpkins gleem, may luck be yours on Halloween." (Plate #67) Here's a closeup of my coloring of Weena, you can compare this to the artists coloring to see how different she looks.

I think she would look beautiful in other colors too. I just love her striped knee high socks, I think I am starting to dress like the girls in these stamps now! Hmmm.... Does art imitate life or does life imitate art?

If you saw my new sidebar image, I just got a discount code for buying from Sweet Pea Stamps, when you purchase, the 10% off code is SPSHolley!! Woohoo.

Squigglefly Challenge

So I saw the Squigglefly Challenge this week and I wanted to play along. This week's challenge is to CASE a project from Holley's design team. So I am imitating a project from last week that was done by artist Charlene on the Squigglefly Blog. As you notice, my image was printed out a bit bigger, so I had to rearrange my pieces just a little, but I think I used all the parts that she did and you can sure see the wonderful inspiration that I got from her creation.
My card is using Squigglefly image Bunny Chit Chat from artist Cheryl Alger. It's just perfect for Easter time. Hop on over the Squigglefly store and the Squigglefly blog to play in this week's challenge and there's a new special that is coming up, for the month of may, they are going to have a HUGE sale, 32 images for $30! You can read about that on their blog or the website.
