Josephine

Meet Josephine, she's an adorable girl from Kraftin' Kimmies stamps. I love her playful dress and her chemistry. Makes me think of someone who would be an artist and an engineer (lol, like me).

I paired this stamp with a wonderful quote "There is a time to let things happen and a time to make things happen." Looks like Josephine is making things happen by brewing up a potion. I am in the midst of both letting things happen by turning myself over to the doctors and making things happen by finally deciding to get surgery. It's all in God's hands now.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill); Paper (DCWV); Borders (Doodlebug); Stamp (Josephine-Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Brads (Bazzill); Vellum (JoAnns); Color (Copic Markers); Adhesives (Glue All, Pop Dots);

Have a Mystical Birthday

This beauty comes from Sweet Pea stamps ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection 3. I used the image to make a sweet birthday card, by adding one of the sayings which comes from Plate #22.

For this card I started with the ribbon, which had two shades of blue, yellow, a tiny amount of red and brown. Starting with those colors, I stamped the image with Memento black ink and used Copic markers to color the image. I double layered the image on dark blue and brown papers onto a light blue card.

Sunday Angel Card

Many Blessings to everyone today! It's time for the Sunday angel card. These cute dimensional stickers I got at Micheals. I paired them with a wonderul vellum saying "For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." I find this Psalm very comforting as it means that the Lord and his angels are watching over us.

Whipper Snapper Ornament

Here's a cute little ornament that I made with a teddy bear image from Whipper Snapper. I picked up these cute lightweight wood pieces at a scrapbook show this summer. I thought they would make adorable ornaments or perhaps gift tags. This one I covered in cardstock and then embellished with the Teddy Bear image. I will tie it onto someone's christmas package with some pretty ribbons.

Project Materials: Stamp (Whipper Snapper); Ink (Memento); Color (Copic Markers); Paper (DCWV);

Sunday Angel Card

Here's an adorable Angel Stamp that was sent to me from Judy H in Canada. Big thanks to her for the adorable angels that she sent!! With this image, I was looking for a saying, something like "Give your Heart to God" but I couldn't find that so I used this "Walk in Love as Christ loved us"

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. This week will be a big one for me. Surgery consult on Monday, doctor on Tuesday, hospital on Wed. The hospital on Wed is to have the WADA test to determine surgical status. It's very important that this test goes well. Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.

Sweet Pea Christmas Card

A pie for you!

This cute Tilda makes me think of the holidays. I guess that's because she's got a pie and pies make me think of Christmas.

Hope you are planning on some pie this year. I hope they at least have some pumpkin pie, though for me, Pecan is a close second. What's your favorite?

Bamboo Serenade

This beautiful Mermaid stamp comes from Sweet Pea stamps. This is such a beautiful lady and I love her long hair. I have also stamped this image up and colored in her midsection which gives her a very different look.

I can't believe another week has gone by. Seems like this year is ending at record pace. I actually got two new sheets of rubber stamps from this artist. You should go to Sweet Pea stamps site and check these out!

Betty Bookworm

Here's one of the adorable new releases from Stamping Bella. I just love this little girl sitting on a pile of books, reading away. I loved to read and to be read to as a child. I paired her with a vellum quote about imagination. I think reading and imagination can go hand in hand.So what was the last good book that you read? drop me a note and let me know. I am in the midst of reading a book by Ann Rice called "Christ the Lord". I have not read any of her more famous books (the vampire ones) as the topic doesn't interest me, but I love historical bibiolgraphies.

Project Materials: Paper (Bazzill); Vellum (DCWV); Stamp (Stamping Bella); Flowers (Prima); Ink (Memento); Color (Copic Markers); Ribbon; Punch (All Night Media);

Sprinkles the Cat

I just love this cat stamp. He's called Sprinkles and he's made by The Cat's Pajamas rubber stamps. What a cool name for a stamp company, huh?

I love this saying too. There's just times when my cat is meowing at me and I know she's trying to say something. She's clearly frustrated that I don't know exactly what it is that she wants at that second.

Cherish the Moment

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful week. This cutie from Stamping Bella has some heart flowers for you. "Cherish the Moment" really, i think that should say "Cherish the Moments" as every moment is something special. What's special about this day for you? what things should you be cherishing? I have realized throughout all the medical issues over the last few weeks how many special friends I really have. Not only how many friends I have, but also how many people really care. Care enough to pray for me and care enough to tell me so. I feel very blessed. It's my Bday today. I am getting TOO old, lol!

Well, here's a big change for the Sunday Angel card, no stamping!! Even I make cards without any stamping at times. This card is a quick and simple card made up with die cuts done on my Sizzix.

Gorjuss with Teddy

Here's one of my all time favorite Gojuss Girls with her teddy. She's so cute. I decided to change her up with some blond hair for a change. I added a vellum saying "Love isn't love until you share it with others."I thought that saying went well with the season. I am sure we all know some people who could use a little love. Sometimes love can be a simple as just calling to say hello, letting someone know that you care, stopping from the madness of the season to give your family a hug and let them know that they are one of the most important things in your life. So, go out and spread some love today.

Product Review: Prismacolor Premier Markers

I have received several sets of the new Prismacolor Premier markers and want to give my opinion of them for you. I have two sets of color markers: one has a chisel style tip (right), the others have a brush style tip (left).

These markers are acid free, archival, quick drying, and do not bleed though standard weight paper. They are also permanent and water resistant. What I like most about these markers is they are excellent for detail work. I love to color in stamped images and the tips of these markers are smaller than other art markers. This feature makes them easier to control. They come in 8 colors. I personally loved the brown and orange; the card I did below shows the brown, orange, red, and green colors.

Personally, I prefer the brush tip, but I think this is because that is what I am accustomed to using. However if I wanted to both color and do writing, the chisel tips would be ideal.

Here's a simple card that I made using these markers. The color does not streak or leave lines when coloring. This image has very small details so these markers are perfect for this project. I also love the water proof aspect. This means I can be working on a watercolor style design and add in my detailing with these markers and it will not run. I can also put my detailing or drawing in and then use watercolor pencils to color over an image drawn with these markers.

Overall, these markers would work great if you like to draw in ink, add journaling in your scrapbook, add detail work to fine line designs or when you need markers with watercolor work. These markers are not used for color blending the way you would use the Prismacolors dual tip markers or comparable Copic markers. They are great for illustration and fine detail work. Most stores I see online place a box of 4 markers in the $5-6 range. As I do more experiments with them, I hope to add more card samples.

Note: I also have gotten a new set of their Assorted Markers. This set has 7 pens in black all with different tips. Stayed tuned for a review of this product in the future.

Hanglar & Kitty

Here's a cute card of Hanglar from Hanglar&Stanglar and her kitty. The saying comes from Cat's Pajamas rubber stamps. As I am sure you can tell by now I am gently resisting winter here. We did have a cold spell last week and even a few snowflakes (emphasis on the word FEW); But we seldom get much winter here. I don't usually buy a lot of stamps that are "winter" theme for just that reason.

I have posted the card of the week vote in the right hand column. Be sure to vote for your favorite card from last week!

Plastic overlay

Here is a simple yet very beautiful striking card. It is made using a clear plastic overlay (like for transparencies). I love this saying as a reminder that the things surrounding you are not as important as WHO you are and what you DO as a person.Cut the overlay the same size as your card. In this case, I cut it exactly because I was using brads to adhere the overlay to the card. If you are not going to use brad, you can cut the overlay large and fold it in half, inserting your card inside. I stamped on the overlay with white ink the heart image. I put a vellum quote on a nicely printed paper then added the overlay on top. I used brads to hold the overlay to the card.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Westrim); Printed paper (My mind's eye); Stamp (Magenta); Ink (white dye ink); Brads (Making Memories); Vellum Quote (DCVW);

Sunday Angel Card

Hello all! Here's the Sunday Angel card. These cute angels come from CC Desings. I paired them with a beautiful Psalm.I hope you all have a wonderful week. As more testing continues to happen and surgery gets closer I get more and more nervous. I have been reading up of course on what they will do and what the potential side effects are and what can go wrong. I probably shouldn't do that, but just trust that the Lord will protect me. Let's concentrate on that this week.

Faerie Song Luna Pixie

This pixie has some attitude. I think that's what I like about her. Her name is Luna Pixie and she comes from Faerie Song Art Stamps. I love the amount of attitude you can see in her expression and her wild hairdo.
Hope you have all had a good week. As the weekend comes, be sure to take some time this week to relax and enjoy the season. They are claiming we will have snow tomorrow, but since we are in South TX, I still have to be a little skeptical.

Whipper Snapper Bunny

This cute bunny comes from Whipper Snapper Rubber Stamps. Isn't he a doll? just makes me wanna scoop him up and give him a hug. Lots of things are wandering through my thoughts today. I am probably as bewildered as this rabbit looks. I have scheduled the remainder of my tests and my pre-surgery consultations. I have 6 appointments and 1 hospital test before Christmas. Glad I have most of my shopping done :)

Owl's it going?

Here's a cute stamp from Whimsy. I colored him with copic markers and paired him with a cute saying stamp by TAC.No news to report here. I am still waiting on my follow up appointment to find out my operation status. Feeling very optimistic though. Since the decision was made I have had the calmest feeling. (And an amazingly low number of headaches!)
